A broad alpine summit reached by the friendly Gorge Brook trail — a perfect first big-mountain day.
Moosilauke is the gentlest way to stand on a true alpine summit in the Whites. We climb the Gorge Brook trail at a steady pace to a wide, grassy top with views in every direction. The grade is forgiving and the payoff is huge, which makes it our favorite bridge between a moderate ledge hike and the bigger Presidential days.
